Columbia University, M.F.A. in Poetry
New College, B.A. in Social Sciences

Candice wrote her first messy poems at age ten—and realized then her imagination was the place that felt most like home. Her book of poems, Live From The Mood Board, an insider’s view of the fashion world and corporate power, won Elixir Press’s Antivenom Poetry Award and was published in 2019. She’s passionate about helping writers find their own voice and the stories that reside inside them, that only they can tell.

Her career has been varied—from teaching the practice of writing to pioneering sustainable fashion as a Chief Officer of Innovation and Impact at a fashion company. She currently teaches creative writing and coaches executives committed to social and environmental impact. Twice a fellow at the Fine Arts Work Center in Provincetown and a Mass Cultural Council Artist fellow, Candice’s poems have appeared in Denver Quarterly, Harvard Review, Hotel Amerika, Ploughshares, Poetry Daily, Witness and elsewhere.

Favorite Book Anything by Sheila Heti for how her mind thinks aloud on the page. Also Claire Keegan: every sentence is pitch perfect, a lure that hooks the heart.
